About Sri Ramakrishna Seva Sangha
Sri Ramakrishna Seva Sangha is a Mysuru-based educational and service organisation rooted in the timeless ideals of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Swami Vivekananda. For over three decades, we have been committed to providing quality education accessible to all — regardless of economic background — while nurturing values, character and community service.
Our Foot Steps
The seeds of the Sangha were sown in 1980, when a group of Ashrama Devotees from Mysore attended a national conference at Belur Math, the headquarters of Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Kolkata. Inspired by the then Supreme President Revered Swami Veereshwaranandaji Maharaj they returned home with a clear purpose: to bring the ideals of selfless service to rural and underserved communities.
Sri Ramakrishna Seva Sangha was formally established in 1988 in Mysore, with the participation of Senior most Ashrama devotees and pioneers including Late. Sri Nagendra, Late.H.N. Krishna Rao, Late. R. Narayan, Gundappa Gowda, Advocate J.K.Basappa, Dr. J.V. Narayan , Somashekar, D Madegowda, Late. Yellappa, Dr.Bhaskar, Swamilingappa and M.K.Govindarao. The Unique name “Sri Ramakrishna Seva Sangha” was suggested by Rev Swami Harshanandaji Maharaj and the Sangha received early encouragement from the Presidents of Sri Ramakrishna Ashram Mysore — Rev.Swami Somanathanandaji Maharaj and Rev. Swami Sureshanandaji Maharaj.
Ramakrishna Vidyakendra School
In 1991, the Sangha founded Ramakrishna Vidyakendra — a nursery school that quickly outgrew all expectations. Under the able guidance and support of Rev. Swami Sureshanandji Maharaj , Ex. President of Ramakrishna Ashrama , Mysore and Late Sri Srikantaiah, Ex. Principal of Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala , Mysore took the responsibility to start the education along with Smt. Sridevi the first Head Mistress of our Vidyakendra known for able Administration and ethics. Started with a handful of children has now grown into a full-fledged institution serving students from Pre-Nursery to Pre-University level.at the outset, the school has stood apart for one defining commitment.
Quality education with no donations or capitation fees. Thousands of students from middle-class, lower-middle-class, and economically weaker backgrounds have received an excellent education and moral values here. Thanks to the dedicated service of educators, advocates and well-wishers who have shaped the institution over the past three & half decade.
Today, the institution proudly serves around 750 students and has consistently achieved 100% pass results in SSLC examinations for many consecutive years with the motto “ Be Good & Do Good”as envisaged by Swami Vivekananda. Recognising this record, the Karnataka State Government has designated & our Vidya Kendra as an SSLC Examination Centre from the academic year 2025–26.
Ramakrishna Vidyakendra Composite Pre-University College
Building on three decades of educational excellence & encouragement by Honorable President of our Seva Sangha Sri.M.Papegowda, Ramakrishna Vidyakendra Composite Pre-University College was inaugurated on 27th May 2015 in the presence of Rev. Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj, presently the supreme President of Ramakrishna Math and Mission Kolkata and other distinguished dignitaries.
The college upholds high academic and spiritual standards, offering students a holistic environment that goes beyond textbooks. Our facilities include:
- A well-stocked library
- Modern science laboratories
- Multimedia and smart classrooms
- Sports and recreation facilities
- Cultural and extracurricular activity spaces
- CCTV surveillance for student safety
Experienced faculty are guiding the students not only in their subjects but also in moral values and personality development. Students from across Karnataka are choosing our institution and the college has been recognised by the PU Board as an authorised examination centre from the past three consecutive years.
What began with just 15 students has grown to 325 students enrolled in the Pre-University College today.
Prof. K.P Mahadevappa was eminent Executive officer for a record thirteen years and he was associated by prof.K.M.Mahadeveppa, Ex principal of our college. Later Prof. Chandrashekar .G a retired prof of Vidyavardhaka degree college, who has 38 years of vast teaching experience was the Executive Officer for a couple of years and is the present president of Sri Ramakrishna Seva Sangha.
Our Campus
We have a full-fledged Hostel facilities for housing 150 boys and girls. Mrs. V. P. Savita, President of Sri Pranamya Educational Trust and her experienced team will always ensure that students from distant areas have a safe and supportive home during their studies.
Hostel and Transport Facility
Adding to this the president pranamya educational trust ,Smt. V.P. Savitha has joined her hands in the development of our institution. Nearly 150 students has got the facility of hostel. Initially began with 15 students and now 350 students are perceiving their education. So the equal credit goes to Smt V.P. Savitha and their team. Pranamya trust is also providing transport facility.

Talent Search
To encourage the talented youth, our seva sangha is extending Merit Concession to the bright students ranging from Rs. 25 – 30 lakhs every year.
